An advertised “urgent meeting of the Unitech council’’ arranged by Ralph Saulep at the Hideaway Hotel in Port Moresby yesterday was postponed at the last minute.

It was scheduled for 2pm today.

But PNG Edge was told by hotel reception to enquire at their sales office located on the first floor about the status of the meeting and was told that it had been postponed to next week due to a pending court hearing.

On asking for Saulep’s number the hotel staffer called a room in the hotel premises and spoke to someone before telling PNG Edge that the person preferred that the reporter’s number be given to her rather than she giving out Saulep’s number.

Saulep is apparently embroiled in the Schram Saga and had his lawyers file a motion in the National Court in Lae last week, challenging the re-entry of Dr Albert Schram to the PNG University of Technology campus in Lae.

Saulep has been portrayed in social media as a person who is unhappy with the way Schram has ‘wormed’ his way back to Unitech and has called on the National Government to re-look at its decision on allowing him to enter PNG.

The notice on the door of the Hideaway’s Sogeri conference room had the message “Saulep Lawyers, Conference at Sogeri Room, 10th April 2014”.
