Student leaders at Unitech have called on the Minister for Higher Education to assist them fast track Dr Schram’s work permit as he has already been re-instated by the Unitech interim council last December.

The students expressed dissatisfaction over talks held at NARI and not on campus last Thursday when the minister was in Lae.

“We urge Delilah Gore to further her research on the issue before she makes a fool of herself and stop being the PM’s puppet,” says student leaders.

“She didn’t meet with us, that’s why she is beating around the bush and misunderstood our petition,”
“The VC has already been re-instated by the Interim council in their meeting held at Holiday Inn on December 12.

“We are asking her to assist us process his visa which the government cancelled and deported him in October 2013.

“That’s why we want the PM to fast track his visa and not re-instate him because he has already been re-instated by the university council,” they say.

SRC president Eddie Nagual told PNG Edge that students from Eastern Highlands, Madang and the Southern Highlands will leave campus tomorrow while the main access for vehicles into campus is closed.
